Councilman Costa Constantinides
Costa Constantinides represents the New York City Council's 22nd District, which includes his native Astoria along with parts of Woodside, East Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights. He serves as the chair the City Council's Sub-Committee on Libraries and sits on seven standing committees: Civil Service & Labor, Contracts, Cultural Affairs, Environmental Protection, Oversight & Investigations, Sanitation, and Transportation.
In November 2013, Mr. Constantinides was overwhelmingly elected to the City Council by more than 65 percent of the vote, becoming the first Greek-Cypriot-American elected to office in New York City.
Mr. Constantinides is a forceful advocate for working men and women. He was instrumental in formulating legislation as the Legislative Director for two New York City Council Members, including serving under the chair of Environmental Protection, where he helped write some of the toughest laws to reduce pollution and protect drinking water. He assisted on key legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect our wetlands, improve the quality of our drinking supply, and on other important environmental measures. His environmental advocacy reached into his work as a community activist and Board Member of the United Community Civic Association when he called for the complete dismantling of the Poletti Power Plant in Astoria.

Green City Force
Green City Force’s prepares urban young adults to succeed in their chosen careers by engaging them in service, training, academics and work experiences related to the clean energy economy. Green City Force encourages them to lead socially and environmentally responsible lives. They are working towards a “green city” built on principles of sustainability, social, economic and environmental justice. Green City Force work towards this vision through their model city-wide Clean Energy Corps in New York City, that reduces greenhouse gas emissions, inspires passion for sustainability and service, stimulates the demand for green services, and creates ladders to careers in the green economy for young people living in poverty.
Engineers Without Boarders-CCNY
Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible students in engineering and several other disciplines.
The City College of New York chapter of EWB-USA was established in 2005. Since then, EWB-USA CCNY has worked throughout the Omoa region of Honduras. Past projects include latrines, silos, and small water distribution networks.

The Bronx River Alliance serves as a coordinated voice for the river and works in harmonious partnership to protect, improve and restore the Bronx River corridor so that it can be a healthy ecological, recreational, educational and economic resource for the communities through which the river flows.The Alliance works in close partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to achieve these goals.
City College of New York
James F Booth, Assistant Professor Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
James F Booth is an Assistant Professor Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the City College of New York. He has a research group called the J.Booth Climate and Weather Research Group examines the links between midlatitude weather and climate. The research group's work is focused on storms over the northeast region, looking at their development and impacts, in both the present and future climate. Additional work focuses on interactions between the Gulf Stream and the overlying atmosphere.
CCNY Green Club
CCNY Green is an Undergraduate student-run club at the City College of New York which aims to educate and take action on important environmental issues that affect the student body. The club was first found in 2010 to address a rising interest in ensuring our campus move towards sustainability energy and practices. Since then, we have only grown in size and are proud how far the club has come. We have collaborated with Green Peace, NYPIRG, and CUNY Divest in an effort to expand our scope and community outreach.
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers
The City College Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers is committed to continuously improving its members' personal development through academic excellence, professionalism, and social responsibility. They strive to become involved in activities that will illuminate our members, our Chapter, the Department of Chemical Engineering, the City College of New York, and ultimately the chemical engineering profession. They establish a support system for all engineering students of the College through the dissemination of information, and provide opportunities that will further enhance their career objectives.
Center for Sustainable Energy
Center for Sustainable Energy promotes and implements the use of sustainable and efficient energy technologies in urban communities through education, training, workforce development, research and project facilitation. The Center for Sustainable Energy supports clean energy development and energy conservation as the means to protect the environment, enhance public health and position New York City to capture emerging economic development opportunities in the energy sector. CSE also plays a key role in helping the City University of New York fulfill its PlaNYC University Challenge to the City of New York to reduce its emissions by 30% by 2017.
